This is the blog version of travel guide I published on YouTube:

Introduction

Hello adventurers,

Looking for the best panoramic viewing deck in Singapore – and for FREE?

In this post, I’ll share my secret to guaranteeing entry to this stunning Sky Garden so you won’t miss out on one of the best views in the city.

Let’s begin!

Features

The Rooftop Views

At 280 meters high, the Sky Garden atop CapitaSpring offers one of the best viewpoints in Singapore. It’s arguably better than MBS SkyPark and DEFINITELY better than the Singapore Flyer because:

  • We’re higher than MBS.
  • It’s a full 360-degree view.
  • It’s completely free!

Here’s what you’ll see from up here:

South: Sentosa, cargo ships dotting the horizon.
West: Chinatown’s heritage streets from above.
North: The Padang, National Gallery, Fort Canning.
East: The whole of Marina Bay.

This spot is also amazing for fireworks! If you’re visiting between June and August, keep an eye out for the National Day celebrations lighting up the sky.

The Sky Garden

Beyond being a phenomenal viewing deck, this beautiful rooftop garden supplies fresh herbs and vegetables to the restaurants right beside it. Truly farm-to-table dining.

Fun fact: This entire facility is managed by 1-Arden, the same name as my middle name. BUT we are not affiliated… unless my grandfather’s hiding something from me.

The Green Oasis (Bonus Access!)

Access to the Sky Garden also grants you access to the lower gardens on levels 17 to 20.

Not as high up, but still worth visiting since you’re already here!

Getting There

Free Admission (But It’s Tricky)

To get to CapitaSpring, take the MRT to Raffles Place and exit via Exit A.

Look for this iconic skyscraper—it’s the one that looks like someone very strong escaped from prison.

Getting to the building is EASY, but getting into the Sky Garden is a little tricky. Here’s why:

  • Admission is FREE, but only on weekdays (excluding public holidays).
  • Opening hours is VERY limited to
    • 8:30–10:30 AM
    • and 2:30–6:00 PM.
  • ALTHOUGH booking slots open 14 days in advance, they get booked out almost instantly.

The BEST chance to secure a free visit is to book right when the new slots are released. For example: To book for April 15, you need to be on the site on April 1 at exactly 8:30 AM (GMT+8).

Now… what if you missed out on the free slots BUT still want to go?

Option 1: Same-Day Paid Entry

There’s a separate booking line for PAID admission into the garden.

  • Available between 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM.
  • HOWEVER this will set you back $10 per pax
  • Good news is, you could redeem your entry for a soft drink at the bar.
  • Bad news is, this also sells out fast.

BUT no worries because I still have more tricks up my sleeve!

Option 2: Book a Table!

Patrons of the 1-Arden rooftop bar and restaurants get FREE access to the garden.

This includes the:

  1. 1-Arden Rooftop Bar @ Lv51
  2. Oumi Japanese Restaurant @ Lv51
  3. Kaarla Aussie Restaurant @ Lv51
  4. Sol & Luna Restaurant @ Lv17
    • You could visit the garden after your meal

Out of ALL the options, the Rooftop Bar is the most affordable.

As of this writing, No minimum spending required, BUT you need to enter your credit card details to secure the reservation. If you did not show up to your reservation OR you did not purchase anything on your visit, they will charge your card $50/person.

Last I checked, the cheapest item on the menu is a soft drink for $6. So if you’re visiting in the evening, it’s more affordable to book a table at the bar than to pay for $10 garden admission. Or girl math: You profit $10.

Option 3: Last Resort

If the bar is fully booked, then no choice you gotta try the rooftop restaurants instead…

The biggest downside is… Each venue has a different booking site. BUT don’t worry! I’ve compiled all the links into one easy table—so you can try booking from top to bottom based on availability.
