Overview of the Park
First, let me give you a run down of the park
The whole bird park is quite big…

The Ultimate Visiting Route
Bird Paradise is very big with many many things to see – some of which are time sensitive…
NO WORRIES, i’ve helped you weave the perfect route so you DON’T MISS A THING.
09:00 – Heart of Africa
For the best visiting experience, arrive as soon as the park opens at 09:00,

The Heart of Africa is the BIGGEST aviary in the park. It simulating a forested valley from the African continent.

Along the tall boardwalks, you can find weaver birds and their intricately woven nests.

There are even higher platforms you can get to, to have a view from the canopy.
For an unforgettable close encounter with the birds, sign up for their 9.30AM feeding session that costs $8 per portion. Buy this in advance when you buy your ticket.

Even if you’re not participating in the feeding, come here at 9.30AM because during feeding many of the birds will gather, making it easier to watch them.
10:00 – Wings of Asia
Next, follow the boardwalks to Wings of Asia, to catch the Pelicans feeding session at 10AM!

It feels so laid back. There are really big birds like the storks and pelican.
Similarly, theres an option to join a session to feed them – BUT I don’t really like this feeding session, because you wont really get to interact with the birds.

You’ll be standing at this high platform while the birds pitifully wait for you to throw some fishes down.

The scenery is nice, but I find that the birds aren’t as exotic and lively
10:30 – Sky Amhitheatre for Predators on Wings

Next if you really wanna see ALL the birds in the park… follow the Bali arches to get to the Sky Amphitheatre to catch the 10.30 show: Predators on Wings

You’ll meet some very cool big predatory birds like the:
- American Bald Eagle
- White-Bellied Sea Eagle
- Brahminy kite
- Buffy FIsh Owl
- Caracara
- KING Vulture
- Cinereous Vulture
- and the Marabou Stork
Many of these are EXCLUSIVELY seen in PoW. The show lasts about 30 mins.
BTW Singapore can get reaaaallly hot, so please bring along a water bottle. There are refill stations near the toilets for you to top up your water.

You can find the toilets at:
- Guest Services
- Heart of Africa
- Egg Splash
- Sky Amphitheatre
11:00 – Crimson Wetlands
After the show, hop into the MAGNIFICENT Crimson Wetlands:

The moment I stepped in, the name makes sense. Theres a pond full of Pink Flamingos, Scarlet Ibises, Roseate Spoonbills, and vibrant Macaws everywhere. There wasn’t a dull moment

Some of the birds here are really playful- borderline naughty. I had to run away from a Dusky Parrot who wanted to claim my tripod as his plaything.

I really love the energy and the color here!
11:30 – Lunch
Now is the best time to catch a bite.
Unfortunately there isn’t an affordable place for food in the Bird Paradise.
The Crimson Restaurant is a decent place, otherwise there’s a “fast food” cafe near the Egg Splash.
Personally I’d just sneak in a small snack or sandwich.
12:30 – Sky Amphitheatre for Wings of the World
To catch the other show: Wings of the World, go back to the Sky Amphitheatre.

The Wings of the World showcase iconic birds doing things you wouldn’t expect a bird to do.

The best part was when Amigo the Amazonian parrot sang everyone a Happy Birthday in perfect tune.

If you have to choose one, in my opinion the predators on wings is more entertaining. The experience of watching a big eagle up close and having a huge vulture flying overhead was magnificent.
13:00 – Amazonian Jewel (via Crimson Wetland)

After that, get to the Amazonian Jewels via the Crimson Wetlands. This is so that you can go through the next few aviaries in a straight line. Actually from here onwards you can take your own time. Go faster if you’re not interested – but go slower if you wanna spot more birds 🙂
The Amazonian Jewels simulates the Amazonian rainforest. The birds here are very beautiful. Each of them have uniquely features you don’t normally see in a bird. Like this dorky Helmeted Currasow:

and the Andean Cock of the Rock

My favorite bird here is the toco Toucan!

13:30 – Songs of the Forest
Follow the boardwalks to get to the Songs of the Forest… which is supposed to be filled with songbirds renowned for their melody.
However… The cheerful lories next door are much louder hahahah. Regardless, you can still spot very pretty birds in this aviary:

14:00 – Lory Loft

You’ll finally hear the source of all that noise at the Lory Loft.
We can’t catch the Lory feeding session (11AM/3.30PM) but believe me you DON’T have to. These lories are already so energetic and naughtily stalking human visitors. You’ll definitely encounter at least 3 of them effortlessly.
If you do take part in the feeding… be prepared to be swarmed by the hungry birds

For the cuteness overload and unique experience of being assaulted by adorable lories it’s a 4/5.

14:30 – Mysterious Papua
Keep following the boardwalks and you’ll reach the Mysterious Papua.
We are also not catching the cassowary feeding session(1PM), but the bird is quite big so you might still be able to see it whether or not it’s feeding time.

This area simulates the lowland area of Papua. The star of this area is the HUGE flightless bird, the Southern Cassowary:

15:00 – Australian Outback
Continuing on, you’ll reach the Australian Outback

This area simulates the Australian countryside!

I find the Aussy outback abit dry. I feel that there aren’t enough bird varieties compared to the other aviaries.
15:30 – Penguin Cove
Keep on going, you’ll reach the Penguin Cove, a multi story “indoor aviary” recreating the antarctic glacier environment where penguins can happily dive and swim.

It felt very magical to watch them play. I feel like they are aware of how awestrucked the children… and the adults were.

They would come near the glass divider to give us a good show. For the playful penguins and cool setup, It’s a 4/5.
16:00 – Winged Sanctuary
Last but not least, catch all the BIG BOIS at the Winged Sanctuary.

The winged Sanctuary houses the birds in light cages. You can find the bigger hornbills here:

The most impressive birds here are on the lower level, on the left hand side while facing the Winged Sanctuary sign. The most impressive bird here is the Philippine Eagle:

While there are impressive birds here, I don’t really like seeing the birds in the cages.
I know that it might be dangerous to be in a walk in aviary with these birds. One angry bird peck and someone might lose an eye, and we humans might be the true danger to the endangered birds.
