TL;DR – SG to MY crossing

TL;DR – MY to SG crossing

With Explanation
SG to MY

Monday – Thursday
When crossing from SG to MY on Monday – Thursdays
Best timings are
– before 10AM
– After 10PM
– OR 2PM-5PM
Basically you wanna avoid the timings when
– Malaysians night shift going back home in the AM
– AND Malaysians living in Malaysia working day-job in SG going back home in the PM
Friday
Friday is tough to cross throughout the day because
– many weekend trippers will be crossing today
– on top of the usual working crowd
– PLUS Malaysians working && living IN SINGAPORE going back home
BUT you might be able to breeze through if you squeeze in before 8AM or after 11PM
Saturday
Crossing on Saturday is the absolute WORST time to go.
To avoid the queues you’ll have to cross
– before 7AM
– or after 10PM
– otherwise 4PM onwards is bearable ish
In the morning you’ll be competing with
– Malaysians returning home from Fri night shift
– SG day & weekend trippers (a lot of them) throughout the day
Sunday
Sunday is quite forgiving the whole day. For the least amount of queueing:
– cross before 8AM
– 3 to 5PM
– or after 8PM
MY to SG
The best timings for crossing from MY to SG is totally different ball game

Monday
For Monday crossing, AVOID crossing between 6-9AM. For the least queue, cross from 9AM to 3PM
Why so crowded?
– in the AM: Malaysians working in Singapore commute back into Singapore to work
– in the PM: Weekend trippers who extended their weekend makes their return trip
Tuesday
Similar pattern to Monday with less volume.
Wed – Fri
Wednesdays to Fridays are pretty quiet. For the best time, just avoid the working crowd by crossing between 9AM to 4PM
Sat & Sun
The weekends are more problematic. On Sat and Sun, cross over before 4PM to avoid the day trippers traffic that usually remains busy up till 2AM next day.
If you are staying for dinner, there’s still a chance to dodge a bullet by catching the slight dip between 8-10PM.
Public Holidays & School Holidays
If you are crossing the border on public holidays OR during SG / MY school holiday, expect the crowd to at least be at the level of weekends.
For PH, especially so if it makes a long weekend. Singaporeans love to go Malaysia on long weekends and Malaysians love to see their family on long weekends!
